What We Cover

LoveLikeReed provides financial assistance for professional mental health counseling for children and families experiencing serious mental health challenges. We want to make sure that the cost of care is never the reason a family can't get help.

How Our Program Works

When your application is approved, we connect you with a licensed mental health professional at one of our partnering facilities in Cherokee County. From there:

  • If you have health insurance: We cover your copay for up to 5 sessions — so you pay nothing out of pocket.
  • If you are uninsured: We cover the full cost of up to 5 counseling sessions at a partnering facility.

Five sessions is a meaningful starting point for addressing acute mental health needs. Our hope is that through those sessions, families can develop ongoing support plans and connect with longer-term resources.

Who We Help

Our program is designed for children and families facing these mental health challenges:

  • Suicidal ideation (thoughts of suicide)
  • Self-harming behavior
  • Prolonged despair or severe depression
  • Trauma-related symptoms (PTSD, acute stress response)

Applicants must have a documented mental health condition from a medical provider and demonstrate financial need. We do not turn families away based on income level — we assess need on a case-by-case basis.
